This Cookie Policy explains how The Freedom VA uses cookies and similar technologies on thefreedomva.com. It should be read alongside my Privacy Policy.
Who I am
The Freedom VA is the trading name of Nicola Bull, a sole trader based in the UK. Email: nicola@thefreedomva.com. ICO registration number: ZB341996.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, scripts and tracking pixels, store or read information on your device in the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.
How I use cookies
My website does not use any cookies for visitors. I do not use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies, and I do not sell your data.
The only thing the website stores on your device is a small temporary setting that WordPress uses to check whether your browser can display emojis. It is deleted when you close the browser tab and does not identify you.
Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wpEmojiSettingsSupports | WordPress (this website) | Checks whether your browser can display emojis | Strictly necessary (session storage) | Until you close the tab |
[cookie banner plugin cookie, e.g. cookieyes-consent] | This website | Remembers your cookie choices so the banner does not reappear | Strictly necessary | [12 months] |
If you are logged in to the website’s admin area (which only applies to me), WordPress sets additional login cookies. These are not set for visitors.
Third-party services
My website uses fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google. No cookies are set. My contact form is provided by WPForms. When you submit it, your details are sent to me by email so I can reply. Links to my social media profiles, such as LinkedIn, take you to those sites, which have their own cookie policies.
Managing your cookie choices
When you first visit the site, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working properly.
For more about cookies and how to manage them, visit the ICO’s website at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy if the cookies on my website change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
